Dr. Lily Kisaka

Dr. Lily Kisaka is a Resource Economist with a PhD from the University of Fort Hare, South Africa, and an MPhil from Moi University, Kenya. With over 15 years of experience in natural resource management, she has made significant contributions to the development and management of projects focused on integrated approaches to addressing economic, environmental, and social vulnerabilities to poverty. Lily’s expertise spans policy analysis, capacity building, stakeholder engagement, and knowledge management, with a strong emphasis on sustainable development.
Lily spent five years with the Nile Basin Initiative and ten years with the East African Community’s Lake Victoria Basin Commission, where she played a pivotal role in the implementation and management of regional projects aimed at improving natural resource management and fostering regional cooperation. In her current role as a part-time lecturer at Kibabii University, she supports the Department of Agriculture in expanding its course offerings and enriching the academic environment. Additionally, she works as a consultant in various areas of resource economics and project management.
Lily is deeply passionate about mentoring and empowering the next generation of women scientists, inspiring them to make meaningful contributions to resource management.
