Monitoring Program
Collecting long-term and time-series data to build a deeper, more comprehensive understanding of the African Great Lakes and their ecosystems.
Long-term monitoring processes
ACARE is working to develop a long-term monitoring system of basic, but important data so that the scientific community has a more holistic understanding of the lakes. This will assist in making better management and policy decisions; allow scientists to assess impacts of climate variations; and help us better track various aspects of large lake resources, such as fisheries, biodiversity, land-use impacts, and other limnological parameters.
The monitoring program on the African Great Lakes is still being developed. Come back soon to see progress.
