Council of Advisory Groups
The Council of Advisory Groups was established to ensure each Advisory Group is moving towards the overall mission and vision of the network.
Council Mission:
To enhance communication and collaboration of entities across all African Great Lakes
Goals, priorities and issues that need addressing:
- Reviewing the long-term goals and objectives of the Advisory Groups to provide guidance on their priorities.
- Support the Advisory Groups in aligning research agendas with their respective national and regional priorities, promoting harmonization.
- Aggregate Strength Weakness Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) analyses from each Advisory Group and offer guidance on leveraging synergies, experiences, and strengths identified in the individual SWOT analyses.
- Collate project proposals with similar and overlapping themes to streamline fundraising at the regional level and expedite implementation across the AGs.
- Facilitate review and publication of regional research outputs to strengthen visibility, communication, and outreach among and within the AGs
- Link ACARE to regional and international bodies with similar interests to facilitate cooperation, and joint project implementation.

Members
Members of the Council of Advisory Groups are each representatives of each Advisory Group and are chosen through a unanimous vote process among their peers.
